This plants was actually gifted to me by a friend in Singapore as a small three leafed seedling - and it has grown into an incredible plant! It is hands down one of the absolute darkest plants in my collection, if not the darkest. And it has the most amazing contrasting veins against that almost pitch black dark foliage. When I got it, I actually wasn't that into anthuriums with veins but things have definitely changes. Ciara might have something to do with that!
It's seed parent is a very beautiful carlablackiae from Wuhoo Tropicals before they started numbering their breeding plants. The pollen parent is a narrow crystallinum with an elongated leaf shape. I believe this plant has gotten the best from both parents and I absolutely adore the almost orange emergent leaves it pushes from time to time. It do however have the growth pateren from the carlablackiae with annoyingly tight internodes which makes it very difficult to propagate. But I have successfully done so, so clones will be offered from time to time. Just keep an eye out on the page.
