A. dressleri RG x carlablackiae 'Amanda'

I believe, this specimen will forever be one of my ultimate favorites in my collection. It was the first anthurium hybrid that I fell head over heals in love with and just had to have to call my own. You know that feeling? When the hunt begins? I think it took me approximately a year before I succeeded, but when I first found her I didn't think twice about. And I have loved her ever since!

It's a hybrid created by Dylan Ngyuen, a collector and breeder that (unfortunately for the hobby) isn't active anymore. He was one of the firsts to bring some awesome anthurium hybrids to the community – and this batch was one of them. It's created by crossing two of his most iconic plants, namely his incredible dark dressleri Rio Guanche Ecotype F2 and his famous minimal veined carlablackiae ‘Amanda’.

This particular specimen that I have in my collection and breeding program was one of his original holdbacks. And I can totally see why she stood out with her incredible purple emergent colors, very dark foliage and vigorous growth. Furthermore, she turned out to be a very prolific breeder!
